they changed the leverage ration of the bike and also changed the shock length from a 8.75 to a 9.5 the bike is lower and slacker and ramps up better. One of the issues the v10 has is not having low and slack enough geometry. kovarik said at fontana that the new m5 corners quite a bit better then the m3 "it f*cking rails". The M3 and M5 both have a little bit less travel then the v10. The m3/m5 are sick races bikes. obviously the v10 is proven s a race bike, but in my opinion the intense is a bit better for dh racing. And of course they look the same. intense and santa cruz both invested research of vpp and i think the cost of the vpp patent.
