My workstation setup

So I finally went and did it- no more dual monitors. I claimed a 3rd un-used monitor at work and hooked up a triple.

My 3x5 Wacom tablet can whip the pointer across the screen in a single swoop, but the mouse has to roll over several times.

This would be good for video editing, if I ever had time for that. I usually have a PDF, InDesign, email, and Windows explorer going, with my pallettes on one monitor. It makes Excel easier to deal with, but my neck occassionally gets sore. Any mac-heads running dual 30's?

Hey that's me on your middle moniter!! :35: :35:

I really want a third moniter, buuuuutttttt I don't feel like going SLI nor picking up another moniter arm. What I really need are just moniter's that support DVI :11:

Phill- I have a Intel P4 3.0, 2 GB ram, running XP.
My video card is a Matrox with 1-20" samsung and 2-19" ViewSonic. I believe the CPU is over 2 years old, the ViewSonics are a good 3-4 years.

Lately, it's been bogging down, so I downgraded to 2-19"s. My coworkers have similar set ups, but on runs his entire desktop on them as is they were a single monitor. That makes resizing windows to fit on 1 monitor difficult, but maximizing on the entire viewing area easy. Me and another coworker set it up so when you maximize a window, it only fills 1 monitor. However, he runs 1 monitor portrait for reading documents and email.

For me, it really helps to have a PDF open and InDesign at the same time so I can refer back to the document quickly.

Recently, we discovered Adobe ConnectNow, which allows users to view your desktop through a little Java program. It really helps for edits and review. You can even grant them control if they want to type in some text (i've been doing a lot of typesetting lately).

Thanks,
Rich
