pedal question ???

i have been riding for awhile now and i have only ridden flat pedals. my question is what is the advantage or disadvantage to clipless pedals ?
i do all types of riding , are clipless good for dh or freeride ? i dj with flats and that will not change, but i have a v10 and blur 4x that i am thinking of switching to clipless pedals . any input on this would be great .
thanks scab

this topic will generate some serious heated debate

it seems to come down to the rider and the course

clipless gives you more pedalling power (a bigger deal in lil bike races, not as much in dh)

clipless is also supposed to give you more control over the rear end of the bike, enabling you to put it wherever you want to and all... but with my 510s and a good set of dh pedals, i can do that anyways

clipless keeps your feet from falling off... once again 510s sorta eliminate that

i ride flats and can beat a lot of clipless people... but there are a lot of clipless people that can beat me...

maybe the question should be: do you have any problems with your riding/ flat pedals?

ps sam hill rides flats and everyone seems to want his babies

Downhill racing is not an extreme sport.

unless youre into that sorta thing...

In a general statement

Clips - for Racing
Flats - for riding

A false General Statement...Ride whatever you feel more comfortable in, your not going to learn from a forum what works for you. Sign -Off, get your bike, and go ride....I guarantee you'll figure it out.
And P.S...Everyone wants Minaar's babies now :)

:twak:Sh1t talkers

Shut up and ride
