Ok, might as well share with the class a bit..
I'm still on the fence here, mostly because of my own limited free time and what I think I can contribute, and am sure others are in my shoes. I am also at a point where I am honestly between solid choices of whether or not I want to take a specific direction in my riding again or not. Less pain is always a factor there. :D
Again, ultimately, what is the goal of the change and where can we take it?
There's some rumblings going on elsewhere, that I previously mentioned in a discussion with you, that if they continue, can possibly be used to throw support towards any progress we want to make. People want a place to call "home"*. A place to visit when they're away from home, and see what everybody else is up to. Something that they have a vested stake in, something that brings a smile to their faces as they interact through rides, events, and online posts and chats.
Literally, it's just like the Measure WW thing over here, it's all in what you see and use to your advantage to make things happen, and how you tailor that to your audience.
Who is willing to step up to the plate and take over some responsibilities, and what tweaks need to happen to insure another fallout does not occur. Make people take action rather than sitting and watching. I include myself in that observation. What resources can I provide, and how, if applied to this site, can we expand that for the benefit of all?
If most of us were to look into a few, specific events within the last 5 years, I can honestly still say, "Yep, saw it coming and couldn't do anything at the time, but wait and see."
Yes, a site name is a part of that possible "progression"*, but what else needs to be done?
So, when are we all going to get together, whether it be a trail, or pizza house, on a reasonable night (Friday or Saturday, after 7pm) where all of us can get together and discuss these things and lay out our thoughts and ideas??
*Ivan, I want you to consistently remind yourself of these terms "PROGRESSION" "HOME" as they not only play a part in our lives as individuals, riders, forum members, but also, a part of what you and I discussed. Yeah, it's a bit "market" for me to present it this way, but again, that's what the underlying intention is, to market the site better, correct?
:D OK, enough professional/adult speech for now.
We should go for a ride soon, maybe even throw the "Frosty Ride" into the mix as a sort of fun thing to do for those of us around that week, with only the 25th off. Kinda what I think you are thinking might apply, as a means to get everybody out for a shakedown??
