tore my MCL (only with cracking my knee cap in 3 places and receiving heavy bone bruising and muscle damage) in Jan 2007. In March 2008, re-tore my mcl and recracked the kneecap (riding through the Sea Otter parking lot, smacked it on my crown with no knee pads). Started riding my pump track back in July, taking it easy, and then dislocated my shoulder real bad on a freak little fall. Tore my labrum amongst other things. Its been a real fun year. Decided to go into street bikes. Yay, wayyyy to knarly for me. I already drive fast enough and get enough speeding tickets with my VW; I would have been dead within the year if I kept riding.

so... screw what my doctor says. if I don't get on a bike right now, i am officially quitting mountain biking forever. 2 years of injury is too long.

new house up in the mountains, tons of property, been building lot of trails, so figure its time to see how bad the knee hurts after some DH runs.

Max, what's up man? Sounds like a poor year for injuries. I'm recovering myself from the ACL/meniscus surgery. Be at least a few more months before I hop back on anything, although I did get on the dirt bike a few weeks back for some really mild fire roads.

aim convo with Chris (fr4life)

just shuttled 4 runs yesterday. 2 on Juggs, 2 on my new trail. How amazing... First time on the bike in over 8 months. Im sore as **** today, but wow... I guess that is why they say "Its like Riding a Bike..." After one run, I was back to drifting and destroying my friends like old times. Muscle memory reflex. I haven't laughed that much in months.

So no one has a medium DH frame for cheap or something?

thats what the other offer was for as well. Appreciate it, but Not really into the SGS. Looking for something a little higher end and a little newer, like a V10 or Sunday or Demo 8. There are complete bikes going for 2k right now for those, so Im looking for a frame appropriately priced. I already got a ton of parts lying around.

thanks

I guess when I say cheap, I mean like a g or around there.

SGS is not necessarily low end, but it lacks a few things I want. There is a reason they came out with the Sunday. I need geometry and a build like the Sunday. Slack angles, low BB, stiff, bolt on axle. I want something cheap, as in not brand new, but Im not talking tooo cheap. Sorry if I was not clear. Im debating between getting a full bike for about $2000 or b uilding up a frame with spare parts.

PS. I guess I am a snob to some degree, I am not desperate for something. Im rocking a Big Hit right now with a world cup, full xo, 8.5" dhx, but its my roommates and hes almost better from his injury. I need something that I am going to be comfortable riding. Im used to riding nice stuff. I dont mind spending some money, I just aint spending $3k on a bike.

I've always liked the rim color they spec'd. It's the little stuff and attention to detail that keep us biker coming back for more...
