Killing yourself by trying to jump the GREAT WALL OF CHINA..

Damn still cannot believe this:

Wang Jiaxiong, from northwest China's Shaanxi province, is helped by the organizers shortly before he died after falling while trying to jump over the Great Wall in Tianjin, China, October 2, 2002. Wang tried in vain to clear the wall on his bike after riding down a 35-meter high, 76-meter long runway. Picture taken October 2. REUTERS/China Photo

Talk about AIR TIME and the lack of body armor and suspension for attempting such a huge gap/distance. -mm

Any word of injuries sustained? Probably a most impressive list... 35 meters = 105ft, in this case high, which meant he needed to clear that + another 30-40ft.

Edit: Oh dear, he died. :(

Where was the landing supposed to be? :?:

Dialogue:

Organizer 1: I think I forgot something.
Organizer 2: Hmm...
Organizer 1: Oh shit, I forgot the landing ramp.
Organizer 2: Damn, another unsucessful run...
Organizer 1: Look on the bright side, we can still profit.
Organizer 2: True, to cover our costs, pull some bribes, and then some.
Organizer 1: Cool. You bring the rifle, and I'll get the organ container.

Some humor can't hurt.

loved ones and friends. That has tobe the stupidist thing I have
seen on a bike. I cant even fathom what in God's name they were

I wonder why the ramp was so long/high...the great wall of china only averages a height of 25feet which is about 4 meters...why have a 35 meter/105 foot ramp? that is 10 friggin stories high....I mean it could be sloped but that is just too much height for the ramp...even if it were in feet and not meters the ramp would be higher than the great wall...Here are some facts on the wall.

Quote:
Great Wall of China

Great Wall of China, fortifications, c.1,500 mi (2,400 km) long, winding across N China from Gansu prov. to Hebei prov. on the Yellow Sea. The wall, running mostly along the southern edge of the Mongolian plain, was erected to protect China from northern nomads. It is an amalgamation of many walls built in ancient times; the first unified wall was built in the 3d cent. B.C. by the Ch'in dynasty. Laborers were conscripted from all over China to build it, and many of them died during the project. The wall's present form dates substantially from the Ming dynasty (1368–1644). It averages 25 ft (7.6 m) in height and is 15 to 30 ft (4.6–9.1 m) thick at the base, sloping to 12 ft (3.7 m) at the top. Guard stations and watchtowers are placed at regular intervals. The eastern part of the wall is earth and stone faced with brick, but in the west it is merely an earth mound. Successive invasions of China from the north demonstrated that the Great Wall had little military utility. Since 1949 two sections N of Beijing have been reconstructed and are open to visitors.
