Anyone know about the Carnegie dh track?

I saw a blog about it on pinkbike today and it looked cool. I rode a course there several years ago when they were just starting out the dh racing there and it wasn't bad. Anyone have any info or pics of this one? Thinking of racing in the series this year.

its pretty much the same as the last couple of years, with minor changes (added jumps, burms, etc...) the Course is not yet constructed. it will be built up before the race and taken down afterwards, this will be repeated for everyrace. and to answer the question that you will prolly ask " can i go out there and practice " the answer is now. the only time you will be allowed to ride the course is during official practice times during the weekend of the races.

You should definatly go, its gonna be a SWEET race :147:

can you just go to carnagie with a friend that rides motorcycles and have them tow you up to the top of the trails and then ride down them? or do they not allow that?

According to the .gov site, they hope to include in the future mountain bikes.

Quote:
A LOOK TO THE FUTURE...
In 1998, over 3,000 acres located west of the current riding area, were purchased by the state for inclusion into Carnegie SVRA. This proposal, known as the Alameda-Tesla Expansion Project, will provide increased OHV recreational opportunities at Carnegie SVRA, including an extensive multiple use (i.e., motorcycles, ATVs, 4x4 vehicles, sports utility vehicles) trail system, a 4x4 vehicle obstacle course, a day-use staging area, and interpretive and informational facilities. The proposed project may also provide non-OHV recreational opportunities like mountain biking, horseback riding and hiking, provided there is no conflict between them and OHV users.

Anyone volunteer to email them?
That would be a fun shuttle day.

or just call 925-447-9027. I used to ride moto out there. I called a few years back just before the ggg race, and they said it was cool to go out and ride mtb. not sure if the gate is always open to get a truck up the fire road. Oh and your sharing the trail w/dirtbikes.
