for tacky, packed, shallow soil, go for the mutano raptor. It also has a more rounded profile and makes for a better rear tire.
for loose, rocky, muddy, go for the Weirwolf. It has more of a square profile and works good for a front, or steep dh (not leaning/turning). In these conditions, the knobs do wear somewhat quickly, but no quicker than the "sticky rubber" compounds of other tires.
When it's dry and loose out, i run Wierwolfs. When it's wet, tacky, or groomed courses, I run Mutano Raptors.
I really like both tires, only use the Kevlar versions, and they have great prices. I have not had any problems with either tires.

I run the maxxis larsen tt 2.3 tire, single ply, regular duro. They are soo light. I haven't pinched a tube yet. Go to www.maxxis.com The lopes bling-blings are also a nice tire but I wouldn't use them for the rear.........the side knobs tear off, especially in the tacky version. I couldn't be happier with my larsens. I run them for everything: dj/street/park/dh/ds, they have a very low rolling resistance so they accelerate quickly and grip damn well.

I am running the Larsen TT 2.35 front but they don't come in 24"
Looks like Maxxis doesn't make a 24" tire that is 2.35 or smaller
Any other suggestions?

Thats the problem, not many brands make 24" tires that arent HUGE
I love the feel of a 24 in the back so I most likely won't switch

Hey, its true... They are pieces of shit and I will never ride a WTB product again. One company I really do not like. I hate all their other stuff, especially their tires. They have the absolute worse casing ever. I thought after 5 years of having this problem they wisened up. I was wrong and almost hurt myself real bad because of it. You couldnt pay me to ride em. Oh, and in my opinion their grip blows chunks. I'd rather ride a fucking ChengShin ToysRUs tire.
I had Arrows on my DS bike. I didnt like em at first but they grew on me. very predictable, although they rolled pretty slow. Im not sure about the one you mentioned but just letting you know Ive had good luck with em. Also, the only time I ever punctured one of the Arrows, they warrantied it for free.
