but it really isnt.
It's impossible to put my tire on my rim. Its a Monty Mod trials tire on a 20" Arrow Racing rim. Last time I tried I ended up bringing it to the shop and they broke a couple tire levers in the process of putting it on. This time, I'd rather do it myself.
I have most of the tire on and when I try to put it on anymore, the levers bend to more than 90*. The rim is already grinded so I tried using a screw driver (making sure not to touch the tube) and it still wont work. This is driving me nuts right now because I hella want to ride trials tomorrow at Stanford with a bunch of other peepz.
Any ideas are appreciated.

get some muscle. use soapy water that always makes it easier, and if your at the end just use your hands and try it that way, sometimes it is easier than using a tire iron

nick-
run down to the shop and pick up some tioga bead wax. it makes it a lot easier to put the tires on and pull them off.

when getting on my try all tyres they were also very hard. it's impossible to use tyre levers on these mod tyres. i used a weird rolling technique that's hard to explain over these boards. if you want i can put it one for you, and i'll show you how it's done so next time it will be easy. just call me on my cell phone (814 0024) and let me knoiw

Make sure the bead of the tire is in the center of the rim groove. IE - the lowest spot, not where it should be seated near the sidewall of the rim. This should give you the slack you need to pop on the last bit of bead.

I tried the rolling technique and it didn't work (maybe I was doing something wrong?). I took it down to my LBS (was a bitch because I had to walk it over there while CARRYING it.... the tire off of the rim wouldnt fit through the brake booster) and they took 30 min and broke a total of 4 or 5 levers until they finally got it on. It took three of them also

Does the company that makes your tire also make 19 inch trials tires? If so, were the mis-marked? Measure it out compared to a normal 20 inch tire.

They might all be called 19", but in reality the inside diameter is different.... the new tire was simple to get on compared to my Monty
