Mo Money

Lookin Proper. Shes ready to go. Just waiting on some rings for the Bones. I'll post another picture when done. I had to run her through the travel to make sure the Hydro Line is Ok. I will do the same thing for the Bones on the Boomerang, so that is why the spring is still off. Peace.

Nice floating setup :) My friend with a Bullit just installed his a few months back. He is loving it so far. The only problem is he has to run the Hayes true 8inch rotors with his Hope setup which is not giving him 100% pad to rotor contact. BTW, how are the MRP Bones (weight, rigidity, etc.)? I think I need to get a set to replace my XTR cranks. Peace, mm

damn

Damn, looks good Dog. But does it really work better than the standard setup? I've thought about doing it, but didn't really know if it was worth it. Let me know! late

Housing

So is that home made brake housing on that S8? Why? You aren't scared it's going to burst or pop off at the caliper? How do you get it into the lever end? Just curious.

If I am not mistaken the insulating hose is used as a shield/protector. If you look closely you can see stock Hayes hose near the caliper fitting. -mm

Well,

My Rings did not come in today. Darnit it all to Hell. Willy,Muda is right. I use that "E-D Plex Tubing" for protection. Everbody that see's it, trips out on it. It works wonderfully. There is alot of motion going on with a Squishy.
Not to mention Rocks. It Protects my Hydro Lines, nothing more.

Muda,I dont understand the problem with your buddies Hope Bullit Setup? Hope is IS? Can you give me a little more info as I am curious? Also,it looks like that front Rim is a 24"? The tire is Huge, perhaps it's the angle of the picture? Those Go Ride Fork Protectors are Proper. Does he like um?

Tone,I'll give you a full report on the ride. Every Super 8 owner I have talked to said that it was amazing. The Wife bought it for me at Sea Otter. I could not see droping that much cash. Although I wanted it bad. Brian at Brake Ther. said that his S8 customers canceled there orders on V10's after putting it on. They also had an Avy though.

Hope is IS but it does not run exactly 8inch rotors. 205mm is there exact measurement. With the repositioned caliper, my friend was told that the larger Hope rotor might have clearance issues. Brake Ther did send him a Hayes 8inch rotor to prevent any problems but the pad/rotor contact is not 100%. He is getting like 60% contact surface. His front tire is a Michy 32 comp...Great beefy 26" tire. Only problem is there is no mud clearance when running them on a 02' Super T. Also those Fork Protectors are more than PROPER. They have saved his stanchions multiple times already :D Peace, Muda

Thanks Muda

I understand now, that's a bummer about the pad contact.

Well, this would have been done days ago,but I have run into a problem.
I cant get the Arms off to make the final adjustment. The Hardtail Bones
were off with three light taps with the proper tool. This second set is giving me hell. I am too Pissed Off to talk about it. I hope to get it today. Mini Me 32 tooth Set Up as I dont have a larger ring for my 36 Setup. I got the new Bash Rings but no Ring,it's coming. This set up is nice, but not what I was planning to run.

Well,

what I thougt would be a quick swap turned into headache. The cranks
are off and the old Race Face is back on. I will return the cranks and try
again. 4 bolt,5 bolt, blah blah blah. What a pain in the ass. I'm out.

For those who care.

The Stock setup after the picture above. We are on hold till the Bones
come in. The Rotor has some rub with the new setup. I shall take her
out and bed her in. Peace.
