Howitzer?

On the 2006 truvativ parts list there is the new howitzer BB, I was wondering if anyone knew if you ran that BB with a standard holzfeller crank or do you have to get a new crank? I would like to switch to the outward bearing system because it is supposed to last longer and stiffer than a standard BB.
thanks
also if you kno where to get the bottom bracket that would be great too!

I'm pretty sure you run just the normal holzeffeler cranks. All they did was move the bearings outside but they kept the isis spindle attached. SO u would run ur regular cranks.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure you need the 2006 Holzfellers to run the Howitzer BB. I just ordered a Howitzer BB, and I'm getting the '06 Holzfellers to match...

Ditto...

As with any Truvativ 05/06 part clarify whether it's ISIS or micro spline. Personally, I'm ok with my new set-up so far, but not convinced it's better than anything else after having seen nothing but issues with bearing life on the ISIS bb's. Same with Race Face's outboard bearings and chainring life/strength this year, easily worn out seals and bearings and chipped chainring teeth.

I may have to give up my Shimano boycott and try out the Hone or Saint crank/bb set-up.

Let us know how it works out for you.:147:
