A slacker head angle will make your bike feel better down steeper trails, you want this if you are racing steep DH courses usually, or if you like your bike raked out for some reason. A steeper head angle will make your bike more upright and it will be better for climbing and such where a slack head angle isn't needed. A shorter wheelbase will make your bike more 'whippable', you'll be able to throw it around better and it will feel snappier and more responsive in tight turns, a longer wheelbase is stable at high speeds, but won't be as nimble in tight stuff.
