Halo wheels, good or bad?

I'm lookin at getting a set of Halo wheels. They look pretty sweet I'm just a bit concerned about the cheap prices... do cheap prices translate into a cheap product? I don't know much about these wheels so if anyone does please give me some info.

I'm planning on using them for all mountain/heavy freeride. I'm building up a 05 red Banshee Chapparal and have purchased white Deity cranks, bar, and stem so I kinda want to keep up with the white theme and pimp my ride to the max. I'm not sure of any other rim/wheel companies making white rims (supposedly Syncros offers a white rim and supposedly Sun does too). And the price on the Halo's look awesome, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I just don't want to get these dope looking wheels for much less than other brands only to find out that they're going to fall apart a few months down the road.

well all i can say is that you usually get what you pay for. You can always re-true the wheels or build them yourself (I did that with my rhynolite's and they are holding up fine). You could also buy some other wheels and paint them white. That wouldn't be that hard and you could get some wheels that you know aren't gona fall apart. Well whenever you finish your bike post soem pics, sounds pimp.

syncros makes white hoops and yeah theyre strong and yeah theyre expensive. not sure about Sun but they make some dope camo singletracks. and the painting thing, jus get some white rims, the paint is gonna chip scratch and look cheesy and ghetto. but halos are nice

I've got a Chap, and my 11yr old son (Khaner) has 24 inch Halo rims. Not the white ones, but i'd say the color probably has little to do with performance.

So far so good with the rimes. He rides better than most men i know, and hasn't had a problem at all. The wheel build is key. We got them already built up with Diatech hubs from unrealcycles.com. He's been riding them almost a year on his Stinky Junior, and we havn't had to true them, or do anything to them for that matter.

As far as the Chap, mine's an 04, and I'm trying to get it built back up as an XC rig. I don't love it for DH and FR, but for heavy XC it's great.

there a tad on the heavy side. 729's have a better strength to weight ratio. Oh, and rotational weight does matter... :13:

Halo's are pimp, I love mine. I'm 6'4" about 270 and they stayed true for a good 6 months when I cased so hard my tire popped, then they had a slight hop in em. Buy the SAS's.

PS Haven't been on in a while, how's everyone doin?
