I am thinking about making the dj bike that I'm building a singlespeed. I was wondering where you could buy one and about how much they cost. thanks

i got everything for my SS converstion for $20.....thats the spacers, cog, and chain tensioner.......
btw i dont use any of it anymore....I'm not going to run SS.......

go gears if you have the money, although SS is simple and makes almost no noise...
here's my set-up-
Gusset Singlespeed Conversion Kit- about $20
Rennen Chain Tensioner- about $50 www.rennendesigngroup.com (only place to buy it, it's waaaayyy better than a Surly tensioner)
And then I think you need an 8 speed chain. That's about it, and then a chainring.

i've dropped my chain several times since I don't have the anything to keep the chain tensioned. I run the gusset as well, an 8 spd chain, but a 2x9 upfront with bash guard. It's a 38t-16t(?). I plan on going 1x9 soon.

okay, this is spam, but i'm selling my setup, gusset conversion and rennen tensioner because i discovered an x0 derailleur and x9 shifter in my basement.
both are brand new. pm me for more info.

haha, that's like the only ss conversion kit in existence, not hard to find. anyway, he still needs a tensioner, buy a rennen, hands down, the best. (even if you don't buy it from me)

He could also get a bmx chain and sport a half link on it to help the tension
