Yes, get some tubeless wheels. They are great. You save rolling resistance, accelerate faster, save weight... etc.

They work great.

ive run tubless for about a year and a half. Put some stans tire sealant in the tire and you will be set.

Does the sealant dry out over time? I vaguely remeber someone telling me that the sealant needs to be replaced ever so often or kept moist?! I totally forgot, but there was one thing that kept me from buying it when the Stan kits first came out. -Ivan

what tubless tires would you recommend ? I have also heard stories of the wheel getting a little out of true and the whole tire coming off the rim.

Get some UST Maxxis Minion DHF's in 2.5 they are really nice.

Or you could go with some UST High Rollers in 2.5.

I've never heard that. Sounds like BS to me.

Minions are your best bet out of those two options imo

The sealant drys out after about a year. If your tires on the rim that long you have no reason to invest in tubeless the bike doesnt get ridden. As for the tires maxxis and wtb tires both rock for tubeless. You can also use a non tubeless tire with a tubeless set up if you use stans, which is the only thing that keeps your tire from losing air overnight.
