The lever pop out thing is both for transporting or for when you have the bike in the stand. It's not necessarily a cure all from preventing your levers from being squeezed, but it does help. Whenever I have my wheels out and I'm working on my bike I have the levers popped out.

That said... Juicy's are powerful, but for me they squeal like no other. I've had much quieter performance from Hayes, but Hayes just don't quite feel as good to me (and this is being said by a former diehard Hayes user).

Finally, also available at an autoshop, there are anti-squeal products for disc brakes. Essentially its a vasoline type substance that goes between the piston and the brake pad. You can also make sure that the springs holding your pads from vibrating is still tensioned.

If none of that works, then the only other suggestion I might give is to try a friends rotor. Some rotors, one in ton, just have problems or if you broke them in wrong...
How do you break them in right? I've heard that you can use water...?

My hayes brakes squeal like no other. They're so loud I worry about rangers hearing them when I go riding. I think it's the pads because they're pretty old and they might be glazed with chain lube. I dunno but all I can say is that my hayes brakes are LOUD!

I have had two pairs of juicy 7's and never had a problem with noise. Sometimes before a ride in a parking lot but never riding.
