yeah those new tioga tires look cool...they got like dope azz names too like the blue dragon, red phoenix, yellow kirin, white tiger, and the black turtle...too cool...i might have to check 'em out!
www.tiogausa.com states that:
"FACT! DOWNHILL WORLD CHAMPION NICOLAS VOUILLOZ WAS A MAJOR INFLUENCE IN THE DESIGN OF THE WHITE TIGER & BLACK TURTLE. INITIAL DESIGNS WERE VIGOROUSLY TESTED AND MODIFIED BY NICOLAS TO YIELD TIRES THAT ARE WORTHY OF A CHAMPION."
i think E.C. uses the blue dragons...

I havent ridden the new Tiogas although I definitely do enjoy the names and they sound like they grip really nicely. However, I hear a continuous complaint about how fast they wear.
Almost every pro ive spoken to says (granted their sponsor isnt around) that they prefer to ride Maxxis. Long as you dont get a SloReezy or SuperTacky the Highrollers should wear slow and roll fast. If you ever ride trails, then dont skimp out on a tire. Ill say it again like I said before; you cant find a faster rolling tire that grips better then the HighRoller.
PS = I dont know if Tiogas still have this problem but previously they would rip off lugs like there was no tomorrow. I know a lot of people that had to repalce the tire before it wore out since so many lugs were torn off.

I ran an old Tioga that was like the Red Pheonix on the back as a 2.3 and NEVER had a problem with it. Not one. But then again I sucked back then, so who knows. But I would say Highrollers are pimp, Tioga's are very close, and STAY AWAY FROM MOFOS ::grumble::. Oh yeah and this is a very long thread, I think I'm the 51st reply. Jesus.

For all around, everything.. I think 2.5/2.3 has always worked well with me. Heck even 2.3/2.3 will swing it..

Then run two tire sets - 2.7/2.7, and the other one of your choice.. probably somethin lighter then. And don't go with two sets of highrollers, get larsens or somethin. Right now I've got two sets of tires, and I originally wanted to get two wheelsets.. but I don't know if I can afford it :(

I like WTB's since I get them pretty cheap
I also like michellins line up also
Right now i have a WTB on the front and rear. I have a Wierwolf with DH casing on front and a motoraptor on the rear.
In the winter i will run dual michellin DH tires, or dual wierwolfs or another combo;)
