I need a new front tire that WONT SLIP OUT. It doesn't matter the size because I have a Dorado SC. Also, does anyone know where to locally buy inverted fork guards (made by Lizard Skins)?
Thanks for a suggestions.
Oh ya, This tire will be used for street, DJ, DS, basically everything so it can't be a really soft compound.

Hmm I was in search of cheap tires a while back. I eventually scored some free ones at the World Cup, but seeing as that isn't anywhere near I'm gonna give you my old links. They should still work.

mtbfreerider182,
I want to know which have the best grip and won't slide out when pressing my front brake (causing my to fall) like my Kujo does. I can find good deals on it AFTER I figure out which one I want to get. So, what would your suggestion for non soft compound, any size, for street, dj, ds and almost everything else.
Thanks
Nick

Hmm I have found that a good 2.5 tire always does the trick for all-around. But there are a lot of good 2.35's too. I had a Fat Albert by Schwalbe, and whether it was the Shore or loose berms that thing held tight the whole way through. I ride a Mobster on the front of my big bike and it's worked pretty well; I find that in the worst conditions it can be kind of sketchy, but otherwise it holds up very well. Minions are great for dusty/dry conditions (or so I'm told), and I'll soon be able to tell you how a Larson TT feels up front. Tiogas also have a good reputation; my friend loves his, but probably doesn't ride as hard as you will. So Maxxis, Tioga, and Schwalbe might be what you're looking for, but I'd give Michelin a look too.

For dj, ds, mtx, and urbano larsen tt 2.35 are sweet. Hook up really good at every dj spot i've been to, cali..shells..greer..and newark dj spots. You can hit berms at speed with these tires. those new hansventure tires would fit the bill as well, plus you can use them for trail riding. The Larsen's dont hook up well on trails.

I've recently converted to Maxxis. As recommended above, I'd look at a Minion DH in the 60a durometer (Woodside has some) in either a 2.35 or 2.5. The Larsen 2.35 would be great if all you did was urban and really hard pack, but it's the last thing you want if you don't like to washout.

ya, except the intenses are 70$. I was talking to the guy at Calabazas Cyclery (while you were getting a drink) and he said they would be the best or a WTB Weirwolf (39$) or Mutanoraptor (??$)

I've had good luck with the tioga factory dh but as they get bald they tend to slip out and make you fall down cliffs (as I demonstrated at Waterdog).

Yeah, i've never been too impressed with WTB either (their seats rock though). Maxxis and Michelin seem to make the best tires out there right now.

i'd suggest the WTB tires because they seem to give the best performance for the money. If your into North Star DH type stuff go with the Weirwolf but they seem to be a soft compound so if you don't want soft compound go with the moto raptor. those are nice. ;)

Yep, I'm a Maxxis and Michy lover too. Don't skimp out on tires.. WTB tires left my friend walking down half of the trail. Do you enjoy slashed sidewalls? I sure as hell don't.
The maxxis sidewalls are mad stiff. I've only had one michelin, but it was a beefy tire too. I can't stand the WTB's, they're kevlar, but they are still HARD to get the damn bead on the rim. So what in hell's the point? Forget WTB tires dude, I remember my motoraptors cost around $40 anyway. Why not spend $10 more and grab some Maxxis from WSBS?

well see thats the thing if your carefull you don't slash your side walls. and i'm sure that any other tire would have shreaded seeing that they all meet the same standard. its easy to get the thread on the rim to. i don't know maybe the tires that you had were bitches and so that explains your hatred of a great tire. your alowd to have your oppinion but mine stays the same and that is that WTB tires are the best. just remember guys its all about having fun. so go out and ride have fun bro.
