new fully-freeride/downhill

I want to sell my current bike (5.5" travel in back 6" in front both air sprung) which I originally had to have one bike that could jump, ride some dh, and ride some mountain cross mayb. I recently built up a MOB so now I dont need a fully that can jump as much anymore and I want to get one that is better for dh. I still want to be able to do some freeridish jumps sometimes on it but mostly ride dh. The trails I ride are mostly pinning fireroads, some gnarly dh singletracks(crack, mile, secret trails on tam, solstice, as well as a few others) and sometimes the occasional short trail ride(but the bike doesnt even really need to be good for this).
I am 5'6" and 120 lbs still growing. I want more travel and coil shocks front and rear if possible because I just like them better kinda. I've been looking at the versus blitz and trigger frames. I sort of dont want a full on dh bike with a dual crown becuase the trails I ride I would probably be able to go faster on a 7" travel bike with a single crown. I dont really care too much about the weight of the bike if I choose to run a dual crown equipped full on dh bike it should be under 45lbs and if I get a single crown 7ish" travel bike I guess I would hope it would be sub 40 pounds.
opinions please

I immediately thought of a nomad with a 66 or 36. you get 6.5 in the back and 6-7 in the front. that should handle pretty much everything.

I sort of want it to be more freeridish and handle the dh trails better. I also would like it to be super stable.

Im bias towards Turner Dhr's and Boxxer air WC's. The Dhr is very stable and the Boxxer air tracks amazing while still being light and stiff.

The Nomad is perfect for a good amount of freeriding and dh. But I'd have to say that a Specialized SX trail would be a pretty good ride as well. I have the Enduro and love it. If you're on a budget look at the transition dirtbag... a bit heavy but would be fairly versatile nonetheless.

I have a nomad and it rips. I rode every trail at whistler on it with only some problems with the fork.(36 talas rc2-I don't recomend it) I can say that the rear end with the vpp is super smooth, and the bike is really durable. It can do preety much everything. You can also run it with a 7 inch dual crown which I recomend for dh. I think one of the syndicate riders used this bike with a 7 inch boxxer for the world cups.
Heres a pick of it when it was new: sorry for the link

I have an 05 dirtbag with a 66rc2x on it. I've been really satisfied with the bike. I bought it used and besides the little bit play in the rear linkage (the previous owner didn't remember to keep the shock mounting bolts tight), it's still nearly good as new.

It isn't perfect for racing or anything, but I've ridden the CHDH on it, all the trails you've listed, Whistler, and northstar on it and it's held up through it all. Call up the transistion guys, they are really nice and will probably hook you up.

I agree with the nomad personaly. I know tons of people who ride them and swear by them. It is the bike of choice for most of the WTB riders that I know for every trail but the knarliest downhills. If thats not enough for you, a vp-free with a shorter eye to eye air shock (down to 7.5in travel and lowers the BB=awesome cornering) and a single crown... Mark Weirs favorite do it all trail/downhill bike. vpp pedals amazing

Yo! Same guy. I ended up riding with a broken spoke all day. You ride out there often?

Ohh yeah. I'm not sure if you were around for this, but another cat showed up with a newer black Dirtbag with a 66. I guess we just multiply.

I like my Yeti- ASX a lot, its got 7.1 inches in the back and 6.3 inches up front, takes pacfica realy nice, both boyscouts and mile. Also it is somewhat efficient while pedaling.
