Check out the Canon Digital Rebel. Good price and good quality pics. They go for a cheaper price at www.tigerdirect.com .

Peace,

Roger

I just gone a used D70 with a kit lens from http://www.bhphotovideo.com/
If you're not opposed to getting something used, I recommend you do so in order to save some money for getting 1-2 good lenses like a super wide and a nice telephoto lens. The Nikon lens I want to get is around $1500 and would probably be 1 of 2 lenses that I'll ever get. Just remember, the body of the camera technology will get better much more rapidly than the lenses of the camera. So look to invest in some glass as well if you want to take bad*ss pictures.

Get a rebel xt. You can pick one up for around 500 and get a lense or two to go with it for around 1k. I would stay away from used digital stuff if I were you.

My website is pretty lame. Dont click on it.

I would reccomend you buy a nikon d50, and buy an extra lense with the money you save. Or you could get a d80, and just use the lense it comes with, 18-55mm dx I think. I got my d50 from ritz camera, they gave me a good price. Go to a camera store and check out what feels right. You can't go wrong with nikon or canon.

dude, go with the canon 20D

you can get into a great pro level body and a lens for less than a grand and have all the image stabilizer lenses you ever wanted for it.

if you want a full frame then jump to the 5D

I have two 20D's and use them more than my 1DS wich is about 4 grand more in price.

That sounds really sketchy. I would avoid it. If you do get a camera it will be in a diffferent language and it wont have a warranty.

sounds like B&H photo video, they are legit but the 30D is no where near the quality of the 20D.

It is BROADWAY PHOTO! The 30 is $979 and the XTI is $559!! Good deal, I would probabley recc the XTI just to get into it. Then when he goes to get the 70-200F2.8 L IS USM and sees that it is $1699 for a lens the body won't seem to bad!:17: :17: :17: :11:

I say go old skool and get a 35mm SLR. With the cash that you'll save by not going digital you can buy the lenses and accessories you want and still have plenty of cash left for film developing. And nowadays you can get your pictures on a cd so you can go home and photoshop the hell out of them if you're into that sort of thing.

But if you do go digital... Stick to Nikon or Cannon.

HOUDINI!!!!

I got a canon rebel XTI, and hey, I like it :) it is my first "real" camera, so I have no valid opinion for comparisons.
