Wheel Advice

alright so here is the story. I have a set of hand built Mavic EX 721 laced to xt hubs. Right now they are on my intense 5.5 i think they might be a little too much for the bike.

I also have a kona cowan frame with some random parts that i am going to build up. I have a rear sun ringle hub and no front hub.

My question is do you think i order a matching front ringle hub (i have heard mixed reviews about the front and rear hubs) and a set of rims and build them up for the cowan and leave the 721 set on the intense.

Or

Build a little lighter duty set of wheels for my intense and put the 721 set on the cowan.

Or

Buy a wheel set for either the cowan or the intense.

Also, i am looking for rim suggestions for either the cowan or the intense and i will be building my own wheels.

Thanks

no glory

What forks will each frame use?

(please note that I use the plural- "forks" as I'm referring to 2 forks on 2 bikes. It bugs me when people ask- "what forks are you going to buy for your new bike"...)

SHR, Black Diamond Mines, Antioch Skatepark, Limeridge, Shellridge, Concord Skatepark, DVC urban, Mt. Diablo- Devil's Elbow, Tour de Peninsula, WC street, Pleasanton Bike Park, San Ramon BMX, Benicia Skatepark, Moraga Skatepark, Moser Hill, Joaquin Miller Park, Skyline in Napa, Boyscout, The Crack, Carlmont, Shells, Montaña de Oro, Poly Canyon, Cal Poly urban, Skeggs, Carnegie State park/GGG/CHDH, N*, Marin Headlands, China Camp, South Briones, WC Skatepark, IH trails, SV Park Jumps, Rankin Park, Acalanes Ridge, PHPT, Bike4Breath, Hidden Lake jumps and singletrack, Park 'n Ride, San Ramon Skatepark, Dublin Skatepark, Pleasanton Skatepark, 24 hours of Cool, CA, Beresford Skatepark...

If 721's are supposed to be Mavic's FR/DH rim, and you run a trail fork, I'd say go w/ an XC/AM setup on the 5.5 and:

"Build a little lighter duty set of wheels for my intense and put the 721 set on the cowan."

I xc'd my 4x w/ a Vanilla- it's nice to be able to climb again...

Aesthetically, I think it's more important to match rims than hubs.
