From Bicycling.com, pretty informative:

Cartridge BBs

Remove with sealed cartridge bottom bracket tool.

Regrease threads on frame and BB.

For stubborn cartridge bottom bracket squeaks, use Teflon tape on the threads.

Reinstall, putting a drop of Green Loctite on the threads; www.loctiteproducts.com.

For titanium frames, use Finish Line Ti Prep on the threads; www.finishlineusa.com.

I believe creaking is caused by metal to metal contact. One thing I noticed about the latest BB offerings by Race Face, TruVativ and FSA have so-called "anti-creak" sleeves or some variation thereof.

Try applying a thin layer of grease to the following areas:
- BB shell threads
- inside of the alloy cups that slide over the BB bearings
- the drive side cup flange that contacts the BB shell (do you have a chainguide? Lightly grease those metal-metal areas too.
- flutes of the splined axle (before you install the crankarms)

Give that a try. Let me know if it works.

Not Technical related but this is the only BB thread in recent days.

Till now, Race Face, TruVativ and FSA are the only aftermarket companies I've known to promote the ISIS BB... and now I found a fourth! hehe

AMERICAN CLASSIC ISIS BB now featuring replaceable cartridge bearings.
