Went to the Parkfield Race this year, took a bunch of pictures. All the pictures of the Downhill and Slalom are resized and unedited. These pictures really need to be edited for exposure, cropped, and sharpened (hey, what do you want for free ?). The Pixie bike pictures have been adjusted for exposure and cropped. If you want a full sized file, email me and I’ll send it, warning each file is about 3.5 Mb.
Slalom Race turned into a contact sport when the two lanes went into one. The right lane had such advantage that the left lane rider had to cut a corner and slide into the other rider to even keep close. The pictures are at

The pictures are filed by the plate number if only one rider, or by a R for Race Photos, or C for Crash Photos. The Plate, R, C are in front of the file name.
The Downhill Race had a really sweet track, all single track with the odd drop, jump, rocks along the course. Everybody was flying down the track. I took pictures at the log drop until a crash shut down the race. So, if your in the first group I got your picture, if you raced after, sorry I was driving home. Again, the pictures are filed by plate number in front of the file name.

The Pixie Bike Race turned into a impromptu jumping session over some hay bales in the dark. Not for the timid or night-blind or sober at the end. The jump and landing was a old piece of found plywood with hay bales in-between. The distance kept getting farther apart until the end where the jump was about 15 – 20 ft between two groups of loud, drunk spectators with camera flashes going off in front of the riders. I know of at least one really sore face from a bad landing. Thankfully, none of the riders were really hurt bad and none of the spectators had to drive home (but walking was an challenge for some).

As a shameless plug for other photographers both Ian (
www.downhillnews.com ) and Kevin (
www.abiker.smugmug.com ) where taking pictures at the races. These guys are local and really know the course. They are both on smugmug and they edit (crop, sharpen, set exposure) and display a finished picture. If you want a really want a ready to go picture, look them up.
Enjoy
