Grande: RM trials AND Specialized roadie.
|
|
Stage one. Yes, it sucks right now, but most of those parts are just temporary. It's mad heavy, but after my soon-to-be rear wheel change and new cranks (deore or something, with a REAL bash), it should be lighter and much more fun. I'm also gonna slap some good levers on there. You guys just wait!!!
*pics seem to be down for now*
Basic parts spec right now:
RM hammer race frame
PlanetX Knifen short fork
Red King headset
Azonic stem, no-name bars, Trek levers, Specialized grips
Ovation disc/221 front wheel, Ritchey 2.1 tire, thorn-proof tube
XT disc/mammoth rear wheel, 2.35 highroller, Maxxis DH tube
Sh*t cranks, DB pedals, Shimano BB
Avid SD3 brakes
WTB SST saddle, zip-tied on.
Road bike:
'01 Specailzed S-works Festina w/ matching fork + stem
Already have wheels, headset, bars, seat, post, cranks, pedals. Installing shifting and brakes in the next week or so.

first three pix don't work. what exactly does it weigh in at? glad to hear it's ready to ride...and that somebody is joining the up and coming group of trialsinners :05:
edit-the pix work now, looks good for a first trials :006: except for the dent in the seat tube :15: but the fork and tyres and headset are prime. everything else is looking good. what new wheel are you going to get?

I must say... that seat is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. But not nearly as precious as the Elvis glasses that I so dearly miss :17:

looking at the pix again i notice a few things you can do to improve the overall bike:
1-hack off the part of the seat tube that sticks up. it'll look cleaner and will save weight :147:
2- tighten your chain tension. to do this: Here's what you do, with the derailleur off the bike (preferably without the chain running through it):
- Take a flat-head screwdriver and push the "C" clip off the derailleur (it goes around the bolt that screws the derailleur to the frame or derailleur hanger). The derailleur will now pop open, exposing the insides...
- Remove the spring that's loose now
- Replace the piece that has the set-screw (B-tension screw is what they call it, I think) with a magura cantilever mount washer, or another washer of size similar to the set screw piece you're replacing...
- Put the derailleur back on the bike, making sure that you have the derailleur oriented where you want it, because after you tighten it down, it's not going anywhere! :-)
I believe this advice should work for just about every derailleur out there... Enjoy!
hope that helps. :spam: :spam: :spam: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
hehe, those smileys are cool..............
