Okay, so this is my third bike, built using my connections, the shop junk pile, and some old parts I had laying around. Total spent in the past week on this beast: about $25 tops.
Frame: Zanotti DJ original prototype, I'm the second owner/tester. Chris Zanotti gave it to me and told me to try to break it. Highlights: reinforced headtube, horizontal dropouts, Disc and V tabs, full box section rear end.
Fork: '98 (I think) 'zocchi 80mm air fork, QR
Headset: "G Force", constantly loose but doesn't turn well at all.
Stem: temporary, long stem. I'm putting on something shorter and stronger tomorrow.
Bars: Cromoly, 2" rise
Grips: One Specialized, One Cannondale
Levers: Trek
Brakes: Avid SD3
Seatpost: No-name out of the junk pile at work, was bent but I sawed off the bent part
Seat: Tioga Multi-control XL
Rear wheel: XT disc/mammoth 26"
Front wheel: Deore/X221
Tires: Hutchinson Python Tubeless 26x2.0
Tubes: Specialized
Cranks: Deore square-taper
BB: Shimano square-taper
Pedals: Cheap, half-plastic POS's
Chain: Shimano HyperGlide
Rear der (used as tensioner until I get a bolt-on rear wheel): Shimano 105
Gearing currently 32/16 with a Raceface Bash in front.
It's a killer street bike, not too bad at lake laug either. Tomorrow is her first real ride, today was just an hour or so at stanford messing around. Should be fun!

Lets place bets on how long it will last. I say 4 weeks.
Also, just wondering. What parts did you have to pay 25 bucks for?

Guys, it isn't bad at all.
Frame is a real steel DJ bike, worth over $1000
Fork is old-school, yes, but it's short travel and stiff, perfect for street/DJ
Cranks will live
Rear wheel is strong as hell and has seen a lot of abuse while still running strong.
Seat looks cool
Will have shorter stem tomorrow, so geo will be great
Tires are thick (cuz they're tubeless), and have low rolling resistance
The other components are so-so, but they work just fine for what I was looking for in this bike. Feel free to dislike the bike, but let me tell ya that it will ride and hold up just fine.

Nice.... I'd watch out for that fork though,
just keep an eye on it so that you notice
that its about to break before it does!

The frame looks like an excellent dj frame. Does it have a fairly long front triangle or am I just trippin :06:
You guys do understand that he found all the parts in the junk bin at Mikes.
It does not look like he has alot of extra $ to put into it, so quit dissin.

Nice bike. Might i advice investing in some platform pedals. Sick ride though, especially for the cost. How do you make awsome bikes for so cheap?

I saw Grande today with his Zano at stanford. Nice DJ frame, and a nice Trials frame due to the steep headtube angle.
