My mom found a pile of pictures and this was in there. I'm 32 years old now and just got back into riding bicycles (I've been riding and racing motorcycles for the last 10 yrs. or so). Let me give you the details of this pic.
- I was 15 yrs. old in this pic.
- Yes, those are plaid pants and a striped shirt. :17:
- That is a Haro bashguard bike with a plastic skid plate underneath. I could sprocket grind for DAYS on that bike!
- If you look at the rear wheel, I have zip ties holding the spokes where they cross. We believed this made for a stronger rim. :261:
- I searched high and low to find old school Haro bars for my current ride, and I pimp them to this day
After a LONG hiatus of not riding bicycles, I am having to re-learn everything. Even basics like rock-walks and 180's and stuff.
I'm such a n00b. :02:
BTW, I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. We were the ONLY guys doing stuff like this back in the day in that town. All we did was try to attempt what the skaters did and what we saw on VHS videos (that took 4-6 weeks to get the the house, no less), and we'd sometimes get together with our buddies from the Bay Area... if we could get a ride.
