Breakfast of Champions?

Breakfast used to make me groggy and agitated, but ever since I've started riding regularly again that has all changed.

I usually eat 2 eggs with a bowl of leftover rice or 2 slices of toast with almond butter and a double large cup of tea. Sometimes I'll throw in an orange, apple, or banana. (1.5-2 hours before riding)

I'm just wondering what y'all eat before riding to keep up the sustained energy without bonking.

p.s. and suggestions for different proteins similar to eggs but without the cholesterol. Thanks! :You_Rock_

Can't eat eggs or any red meat anymore the doc says after checking my blood test results. Ah crap, gotta find another means for fuel in the morning. It was working so well too... :15:

shoot. two eggs a day is a lot, yo! I go with healthy cereal a bananna and coffee. Eggs and bacon on the weekend w/ rice. Eggo waffles if I got 'em.

2 eggs doesnt seem like a lot...super high in protein.


I usually go with 2 eggs, toast, cereal, OJ, Coffee, and some sort of fruit. The most important things for not bonking are potassium, protein, and just plenty of fluids.

Breakfast truly is the most important meal, thats why I go big for breakfast then find my self snacking until dinner...

So, now I do 1 cup of acai juice, 1 cup of carrot juice, 1 can of canned clams w/juice (open half the can > drain juice into mouth > open can in entirety > eat contents with a spoon) and sometimes I have an egg.
