Which would you chose

for a 120lb rider thats going to go huge on his HT (around 20 ft probably)....

a 2002 Shiver DC
or
a 1999 Monster T

Please say your reasoning and if you have had experience w/ either.
If you have another suggestion, please tell me.

Both are about same price

Haha, I'm gonna say haha after everything I say. haha
This is so amusing. haha

99 Monster baby. Randy Spangler still rides one often, because he said it's the best fork they ever made. Then again, there's a lot of gnarly shit that's been done with a Shiver. They're both about the same and can both take serious abuse, so either way you can't go wrong. From here on it's just a debate on inverted forks vs. standard.

Attending UCSC, College Eight. Feel free to come ride with me.

Monster is no joke.

I toke a big nose dive (about 20') with my new '03 Monster T at Northstar (my very first run).

You need some serious upper body strength to handle the monster. Especially, if you are a 120lb rider.

None of the Above. Why run a massive DC on a HT?! Stick with a SC and save the change for a future squishy. Just my .02. -mm

Well,

first off I have to give props for going Huge. Dog bows down.
Second I want to know what frame you have? There are only
like 5 Frames that can handle a Monstor that I am aware of,Shiver as well. The Geomentry and Strenth is my concern. A Rear 24 sound's in order as well. Unless you just dont care. A Monstor will Rip you HeadTube right off. The Shiver is lighter, has more travel and better Internal's. That being said, with your body weight,I would go Shiver.

Yeah I agree, way to go big. But there are wayy more than 5 frames that can take a Monster. The only thing is you're pretty right about geometry. Ironically, you suggest a rear 24, but that would make the angles even worse. Then again, you could at least pull it up then....lol.
And with those years the shiver has maybe half an inch more travel, not much when you're playing with 7.

HEY!
STOP THE HATING!!

No reason to hate, maybe it came stock on his bike and he didn't want it. Maybe he has a different opinion than you....

Maybe it feels good enough for him to not care about a 13 lb fork
