Kona Coiler opinions? extra money for a bullit maybe?

I just sent my app in to get a job at the backcountry bike shop in tahoe, I'm pretty confident that I'll get the job, so I'm looking to get a new all mountain bike. I was thinking of the Kona Coiler... also though of switching out the Vanilla RC for a swinger or 5th element, how do you think this bike is stock and how much improvement would the spv shock be??

I'll mostly be using it for trail riding in the tahoe area, ie rocky and steep. Occasionally I would like to take the bike to northstar to ride some DH trails, I know the coiler is no DH bike but I think it can handle the abuse. Most of the complaints I get about Kona's is that they are heavy and don't climb very well. Thats why I was wondering if it would be worth my while to put on an spv shock.
