what kind of riding are you planning on doing with them?
personally, i would pick the banshee, but i am not really a fan of either. demo9 has a sschwank parts spec, but i think i'd take the frame design of banshee maybe.(probably because im not into FR anymore :11: )

The demo 9's suspenion is much better than the scream's. but the scream does have adjustable travel which i value highly(since i am doomed to only one bike). now if you have another bike then sure go for the demo 9 but remember with the banshee you can ride dh, freeride, and dj easily, whereas the demo 9 is made for dh and fr(yes i know you can jump em but its easier with less travel, and safer, no buckage)
Don't know if this helped but i hope you buy something you like :09:

Demo9, straight up. Better suspension, 12mm thru-axle, insanely stiff, SPV shock, 16.7 chainstays (flickable), and a fun bike!

Ight so far I'm swinging for the Demo 9, I'll be using that for FR and DH and I'll have the Enduro for DJing and such. Keep the opinions coming though.

well then i'd go for the demo 9 if i were you. Cus you have two bikes, i kinda like having one bike that can do it all. but in your case i'd go with the demo 9 now that i was reminded that you have the enduro

Either one man. Either one would be copasetic. I'd lean towards the Banshee due to the fact that Canadians simply build burlier bikes than Americans, it'd probably give you more bang for your buck. The specialized looks tough, don't get me wrong. But it's just nice to know that the Banshee is just such a tough, simple, plush bike. Might weigh a bit, but it'll make your legs burly on the climbs.

The demo9 is the gnarliest bike ever it will murder all other bikes in existence. If you can get it for such a cheap price, then you should for sure go for it

Hmmm, even though I voted Demo-9 cause it's SUCH a sweet bike, do want to give Specialized more money, or do you want to support a company that actually has 1 adrees and real people that ride work there. I'm not knocking Specialized, and I love their bikes, but just giving you something else to think about. Also, I would personally go with the Banshee cause it's freakin' indestructible and I break parts a lot (not fremes yet...) so I would get the burly ass Scream, but then again if I was offered a Demo 9 at half freakin' price I'd buy it on the spot.

Okay, here's my little extra scoop:
I've ridden a Scream. I hated it, the bike felt stubby and the geo was only good for hucking (maybe). It just felt too tight on the geo. Also, banshee's have snapped! Nick, you're not going to break either so don't even worry about it. You'd have to do something rediculously big to flat to break either frame.
The Demo9 frame is designed smart, as a perfect overall big bike. Brian Durling (national expert DH champ, also works at mike's) tested out a Demo9DH and said it felt amazing on the trail. They look good, and the geometry is smart. With the short chainstays (while still retaining normal geometry in every other sense), the bike feels playful. The rear end is rediculously stiff - the 12mm axle and huge upper link make an amazing difference. The banshee, even with it's stupidly overbuilt rear end, isn't as stiff as the SMART design of the Demo9.
Also, buy the best bike, not the one from the little guy. Example: I bought a Draco because it works for me. True, it's from a smaller company, but IMO it's one of the more innovative hardtails out there (and it's steel :05: ). But, on the contrary, I'm going for either a BigHit Comp '04 or a used DHS mono - both from relatively big companies. Why - because they're both really nice bikes, they work for what I want to do (although they have different personalities), and they're in my price range. If a scream fir all those requirements, I'd buy it too - I don't care about who makes it.
That's why you should go for the Demo9. It's more of a contrast to your enduro, it's fast as a mofo on the trails, fun at the jumps (or drops), burly, stiff, and IMO a cooler looking bike than the banshee. Buy what works for you, and the demo9 will work better for you than the banshee.

you work at supergo dude?!?!?! :10: Hook me up...
O ya, demo 9 no contest, banshees have a tendency to break in my opinion. (dont argue over this point, just one person disagree and i tell you, dont polute his thread, im sucking up to him so hell hook me up... :tired: )

Nick, think about it. Which one has more engineering into it? Which company has more money? You guys may want to support the little guys, so do I, but Specialized is a big company, and big companies have the resources to engineer crazy products. Although, this is the Demo 9's first year.. maybe you don't like first year products. Give it some thought. But I'm leaning with everybody else, I like the Demo 9 better.
