I've been playing with the idea of maybe making a public and legal downhill/dirt jumping biking park. IF i were to make this and it was 1-2 hours away how many of you would go?

1) Which city approved of this?
2) Do you have a place in mind?
3) Would the city pay for everything with no entrance fee?
4) Who would build it up?
ect.
ect.
Not easy
Trust me, I've tried many times to get a dirjumping spot close to my house and I have talked with the city many times. If this is done, it would take you close to a year to get everything working and stuff if its all legal. If you are up for that task, good luck.

So far this is just an idea. I do have a place that might work but I have to go check it out and it would be privitly owned. I and maybe others would pay for this if it happend. I am not saying I will nessicarly do this but I am trying to see what you think of the idea. If I do go through with this I would make it with some other people and see it through. But for now it is only an idea

Not if it's over an hour away (unless it's amazing, I'd go once in a while when I could get a ride)...Definitely not if it's 2 hours away...

For one thing I'm not saying this would actually happen. If it were to happen then it would be probably about an hour away and it would be something like a ski resort where you pay for all day, just a small fee to keep the place going, and it would have the best jumps we could make for all differnt skill levels.

sounds like it would be fun but there was this place 5 min from my hosue on park land nothing but weeds. spent a summer building and stuff. cops came tore it down. i got pissed off at them and the city and decided to try and get it back or something that would let us build and ride there. firm no the guy was a dick who i talked to. this is in los altos where everyone is hella up tight and so forth so it could work wher ever u might think is a good spot. but most likely this wont work. keep trying tho

I'm trying to get my dad to help me out and build this place, if I do (and I'm not sure if it will happen) then I can use all the help I can get. For now I'm just trying to get some input and if it works out then it will be a while before it's up and going

Are you and the possible land owner aware of the legal issues (liabilities, neighbors, etc.) involved in a place like this?

You guys are such pessimists, gaw!
Valparaiso hill might work if we can show that there are a lot of budding bikers around here, and biking keeps them off drugs or something...
