Intense Uzzi VPX vs. Santa Cruz VP Free

Anyone got data on either of these? Head to head?

I'm saving the coin and am close to makin' a purchase.

They pretty much the same bike, Superblow has an Uzzi frame

"And shepards we shall be, for thee my lord for thee, power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command, and we shall flow a river forth to thee, in teeming with souls shall it ever be, in nomine patri, et fili, et spiritus sancti"

Yeah man...pretty much the same bike, but the uzzi has a 1.5 head tube, i don't think the Santa Cruz does. But the Santa Cruz frame is a whole lot cheaper in $....I threw down some money on an intense 5.5 for my trail bike, but i should have just got a santa cruz or the new specialied enduro for whole lot cheapa!

This thread is old. But I got the Intense. IMO they are nowhere near the same bikes, the VP-Free is like 3" longer and slacker. I would rather have a short wheelbase so I got the Intense.

Again, this thread is way old, he already got the VP Free.

But I'll add to it.

Both are great frames. They are not, however, around the same exact bike. The geometry on the bikes is quite different, the Uzzi has a much shorter wheelbase and tighter cockpit than the VP Free. I have ridden both and preferred the Uzzi over the VP Free, maybe why I got one?:006: In my opinion the Uzzi handles much better than the VP Free, it felt a lot snappier to me and better handling. But the VP Free would probably be better for a more DH racing type bike due to the longer wheelbase. Both of them are sort of all around bikes, so they perform okay in all the areas, but the Uzzi will do better on tighter trails, while the VP Free will be more stable at speed, better for racing, etc.

Anyway, just my $0.02.
