Rim Weights...

Phil-
If you're trying to lighten up your bike then don't get the Arrows.

Here is Go-Ride's chart of rim weights, check it. (scroll to bottom)
http://www.go-ride.com/prod_rims.html

The Arrow Rims are the heaviest they sell, and overkill for almost anyone.

Your current rims (Rhynolites?) are the lightest on the list that aren't total XC rims. I would recommend some 721's or 729's for you, 26".

Phil,

Tommy is right, Rhynolite are pretty light. If you want to lighten up your wheels as a whole, start with by gettomg rid of the Salsa DH tubes and the 2.5 DH tires. You'll really feel the difference. Get tires that are more DJ/DS specific since that's what you want to focus on. Like people have posted, changing tires on Rhynolite rims is very difficult. I keep about a dozen rubber spacers in my tool box that I use to keep the tire bead in the well of the rim.

Phil,

Rich is right your runnin some pretty beefy rubbers. it wouldnt hurt to slim down a little. get some lighter tubes and check out the 24inch version of the maxxis holyrollers, and they mount really easy, i dont even need tire irons.they come in 2.4 and 1.95 i got the 2.4, they arnt dual ply DH tires so they are considerably lighter.

It could just be your tire selection. What are you running. If you have a heavy duty wide tire, and dh tubes thats probably your problem. Which won't really change if you run the same tires on 26" rims.

If you're running a single ply 2.1-2.4" tire and you are having problems, look at getting some Atomlab Trailpimp DHR's. They've got a great strength to weight ratio. 24" wheels is where its at, keep em!
