I dont read magazine reviews or their opinions in general. When i was just getting into biking I would swear by what mountain bike magazine would say. If they said specialzed fsr suspension wasnt as smooth riding or efficiant as treks innovative URT Y bike I would want a URT. After reading stuff like that I would go demo the bike they raved about but after trying that stuff for myself I would take a second look at the magazine with the review in it. Turned out trek had a few ads and specialized had none. Ads arent bad but reveiws seem to be swayed by who is buying more ad space. So my dream magazine would have big picures of sick riding with new product information. Not a review but the manufacturers description with a price next to it.

Can you get MBUK (Mountain Bike UK) in the states? I havn't read a mag in a long time, but I remember really enjoying their mag, it was full (we are talking two MTB action in one) Had tons of "freeride/DH reviews" the occasional XC review, lots of trails and urban riding articles, and two of the coolest editors/writers who talked absolute trash... Half the magazine (front bit) was just about making sandwiches and how you could win beer... other half was a poster/boobs/ and reviews...

I was thinking of subscribing to Decline, but it's $39.99 for 12 issues. Do they ever have specials? I like the content since it's more akin to the topics on this forum. Bike and MBA have to cover mt. biking with a broader scope.

What do you all do with your old issues other than cut out pics or recycle them?
