'06 Turner Dhr

Hey, I'm looking at getting a new Turner DHR Frame with the DHX 5.0. I wanted to see what ppl think about the turner. I've heard a bit of good stuff about them but I just want to see what ppl thought. Right now I have a Demo 8 Pro and I would just put the parts from it on the Turner if I got it. What do you think i should keep? I put a picture on here to show you what I'm talkin bout and what it would look like. k thx

DHR= One of the best DH race frames ever. Its very comparable to the Sunday, but they're both really, really nice bikes and really good.

It's definitely a solid bike.

What do you think about it being compared to a Demo 8

it is the single sickest bike I have ever ridden. I just got one. Better than a demo 8. They turn better than any DH bike I have ever ridden. The low pivot suspension has no pedal feedback. Seriously though, it corners like a slalom bike on a DS course. I highly recomend it.

And most importantly the company is dope, they'll send you new bearings for free becuase they're just that dope and the bikes warranty really easily, and thats what really matters.

yea ive heard a lot of good stuff about the bike. however i did hear that it loves the ground and wont jump that well. That isnt much of a concern because im not a huge dirtjumper, more DH. But I also heard it is not really nimble. But I was jus wondering

ha...both of those things are the opposite of true, according to the Go-ride review, "when its in the air it feels like it was born to fly."

also it is the most nimble DH bike I have ever ridden. Period. It has a short wheelbase and it only gets shorter as the suspension compresses.....they also have pretty low BBs and if you drill a new shock mount its just stupid low :01:

I've got one too! It jumps, rails and handles like nooo other. Im soo happy with it. The only negative to it is that the travel can feel harsh on really fast edge-like hits. But that issue is very minor. Mine has a Romic but with a Dhx the Dhr should be even doper, as Rye Bread says.

Its already been said, but the DHR is definitely a great bike. But I definitely consider it a race bike. You WILL hit your cranks for awhile until your used to it, because a DHR is not a DHR without the shock mount redrilled. Why are you moving from a Demo 8 to a Turner? Are you racing? Just trying something new? If you like the feel of the Demo the Turner is going to feel a lot different.

PS. Ryan, your Turner (Ians correct?) has an even lower shock mount then it technically should. The guy drilled it wrong, unless he fixed that since then. Normally people run it a little steeper then that.

ridin' faded for life

Mine's the same as Kirkaldie's, Turner showed him where to drill it.

Well, I'm looking for a real DH bike. also, I was given an offer for a brand new '06 Turner DHR for a really good price. Like the demo does ride well, but I really don't think I can turn this offer down. Also, I like DH the most and so I want a specific DH bike. So with my offer I can do that
