SX Trail vs Demo 8

Before everybody freaks out at the fact that Im asking for which one is best, I know that hey are completley different disciplines and everything. Just putting it out there. I recently got some hook ups with Specialized and am looking for a new bike. Im looking at either an SX Trail II or a Demo 8 I. Price isnt really an issue since they cost the same amount. Here are my questions:
1) I havent ridden a single crown for freeride in probably 2-3 years but I wanna hit some big gaps (7x16). Currently, every time I ride a single crown I dont feel as safe(Like the bike isnt as stable when doing big stuff. Will the confidence come back after riding it a bit?
2) Does the Demo pedal pretty well? because the stuff by my house isnt neccesarily DH/Carlmont type riding. It is more singletrack, dirt jumps and some ladders. There is only two big hucks so Id be pedaling the Demo alot
3) I ride Pacifica, Carlmont, and plan on going to Whistler once every 1-2 years. Which bike is better all around because there are dirt jumps there but also some pretty big stuff (as every one knows)?
4) I havent gone very big, partly because I dont have alot of confidence in my current setup ( fork is leaking, everything else is kinda wierd too), but I want to start hitting some big hucks so would the Demo give me confidence? I know its kind of a wierd question but I dont want to buy the bike and then never use it to its potential.

Im sorry I asked so many long questions but I really need help deciding. Any suggestions or experiences with either bikes would be really cool. And please dont attack me about how rich I must be to afford these bikes because I would buy one used.

I think you'll wanna go with the sx. I recently just sold my demo9 and i'm ordering up an sx trail II very soon. What you are planning to do with the bike sounds like what i am planning to do as well. Take it to whistler, ride local trails etc. If you're planning on doing much pedaling at all (and around here you do plenty of it), go with the sx.
