What tooth chainring are you running on your DH/FR bike?

Curious to see what others run. Also you can make a note if you are running a road cassette in the rear. -Ivan

Specialized SX - no-name 40t with 12-25t 105 road cassette in rear.

Word Ivan. I run a 40t with a 12-25 road casset. It works awesome for DH and I hike the tough uphill.

I used to run a 38 tooth w/ a road cassette like everyone else. I run that on all my bikes. I'm thinking of getting a mountain cassette now though so I can climb a bit better.

36 in front with a 34 cassette in the rear works well for everything I ride...Pacifica, Carlmont, Higgens, Skeggs, Old Alpine.

I got a 44 with an Ultegra, kind of sucks on the uphill as the low two gears don't work.

I agree. Had the same setup on my M1. With the Specialized SX though I am considering a 38t to make it a tad more versatile on the climbs. Regardless I am a lazy fool who jumps off at the slightest wince of pain. Cheers, Ivan
