How come Highrollers arent on there? Highroller is like Sea Otter King! Awesome dry weather tire, a blast in the wet (can you say drift?), not bad rolling resistance... I hate Minions for any type of wet weather riding (especially in the front). I will be rocking 2.3" Super Tacky Highroller single plys for downhill. 2.3" Minion single ply up front and 2.3" Bling Bling in the back for Slalom.

2.1" Bontrager XC tubes all around.

ridin' faded for life

I dont like tires, rims drift better and make more noise

but no really, kendas rock, thats why all the super pros use them... and the minion thing is right, cool people run a high roller (the only decent maxxis tire other then that larsen) in th front and a Minion DHF in the rear... BUt ill prolly be using nevegals front and rear unless its super sticky mud in which case ill run my short tracker in the rear to have some fun

and cheap ass generic 1.9 tubes

Downhill racing is not an extreme sport.

unless youre into that sorta thing...

I was in a bad mood when i posted that, what i meant was ride the tires that you like but dont call others stupid for what they like.
I run mutano raptors, they slide all over the place but i think that it makes you a better rider.
Good luck at the otter fellas!!!

Any thoughts on mud tires? I just bought a couple of pairs of Maxxis Swamp Things. They were the only mud tires i could get my hands on at the last minute.

I've got some Kevlar Weirwolfs (which i pinch flat every time i ride them, and yes i've tried every tire pressure imaginable), Mobsters, and these new Swamp Things.

If you had to pick one for a muddy SOC, what would it be?

No worries man, 'tis all good. We love ya anyhow.

As far as mud tires, I'm sticking with my choice. Too bad I've jacked up my shoulder again. Looks like the only thing I'll be doing is moping, and possibly a cheesy 5 mile SS-XC ride. :17: :17:

Anyone needing a dry condition tire I've that Larsen TT in the garage gathering dust.

Good luck everyone, if I don't see you it's because I'm:

Its a bit late now, but where in the future can I purchase Nokian tyres? In the bay area? Also does anyone know how the maxxis Swamp things would perform at the otter? So far im just using stock specialized tyres, going to go make a fool of myself tomorow, and hopefully pick up a pair of tyres before saturday and ride them around on the road a bit...

specialized tires actually arent bad. Nokians suck unless u wanna go huck stuff, swampthings I heard did pretty well there. I ran a mobster in teh front and a highroller rear, both 2.5, worked pretty good too.
