I think I'm a bit too big and powerful to run such a short knobbed front though-:09: wash-out city.

So the maxxis engineers designed the Minion DH REAR for no reason at all, just for fun? [sarcasm]Just like most other companies Maxxis loves to spend thousands of dollars testing a tire for no good reason at all. [/sarcasm] You might as well stop posting in the threads that you get owned in it just makes you look dumber...

[RANT]ok maxxis just makes a minion front/rear specific for the hell of it? lol i laugh at you! :twak: The front has small pointier ramped knobs for a reason; they dig in easier for better cornering, less rolling resistence and better braking. The rear has paddle-like knobs that are not ramped for a reason as well; better pedaling and braking, since ramped knobs would decrease pedaling efficiency, i.e more spinning of the rear tire when pedaling. Look at motocross tires and they will have the same resemblence, except for ramped knobs, which dont matter because rolling resistance is not an issue when you arent pedaling. I think I trust maxxis (leading tire corporation for alot more than just bike tires) over someone who gets owned all the time.(if this is ryan reading, please read the entire post again and think twice before breaking the "most times PWN3D world record") I think you might feel more at home on pinkbike [/RANT] sorry for the ranting, back to origional subject (unless of course ryan posts asking for another owning)

HERES JOHNNY!!!!!!
yeah i aint posted in years.... whatever, but i have to agree with ryan on this one, minion rears serve no purpose sept so people can say i have "matching brand, area spacific, tires" on my super pro bike that i ride at mach 12 down hills...
most the pro maxxis riders ride a front mini' in the back or even sum run the semi slicks on the dryer courses... (they run a small width front minion in the back cuz it has less rolling resistance 99.999% of every thing else thatminion rear has, its a better racing tire... but all the really fast guys ride kenda's #*paul, john, tasso yadidamean*#)
and lastly, i dont care if motorcycles have nice tires made by maxxis i ride mountain bikes
