p3 fork help

so my friend is building up a 06 long p3 frame. he has most of his stuff together, but the fork. one of his options is getting the marzocchi wc 4x, but his concern is that it might be too heavy. also 110mm of travel is that a good set up? any thoughts or experiences would be good.
thanks

I don't know about the fork, (never tried it) but I run a 110 vanilla rlc on a 04 p2 long, and it rides really nice, I use it for dirt jumping, street, bmx track, and mtx, its an overall good length for that frame... well depending on what you do. but its been good for everything for me.... cuz i think 110 steepens the head angle, so it makes the bike a little more agile. and if your doing mtx, or dual slalom, i think 110 is all you really need...

as weight wise, i think i'm a bit spoiled by fox, but before that i ran the stock zocchi exr comp, and i just got use to it. but i suppose if you have the money to go lighter, then do it... but i would like to think the extra weight makes you stronger.

Neva Fear! I am here!

if he's worried about the weight of a 4X, then he needs to rethink this whole DJ bike thing. that fork is made for 4X and slalom racing and is quite light. maybe look into getting a pike, i love mine, but i think the 4X is about the same weight.
