Which is better jackal or p.2.
|
|
Hi,
Currently I have a sx trail 1 and it works pretty well for dirt jumping but I was thinking of getting a dirt jumping bike. I was wondering if the santa cruz jackal would be better than the specialized p.2. or vis versa!!! Please reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sc jackal owns every hardtail ever made. The geometry is spot on, and it feels like it accelerates everywhere.

id say both are awesome but u should try out both of em to see wich geometry u like. Jackals are sick but so is most of the P series. most importantly try both of them out before u decide one over the other

MBA had a shootout with the fully built Jackal, P3, and Scott Voltage YZ. The P3 barely edged out the Jackal with a lighter weight and better part spec. I can't find the article as it was last year's. If I come across it, I'll let you know. I didn't see it on their website, though.

Let me say this, specialized is a way bigger company than sc, therefore like in all magazine shootouts there are incentives, so it makes sense that the p3 would rate higher than the jackal in a mag. In my opinion, I really don't see how you could make a better hardtail than the jackal, everything is just about perfect. I've ridden p3 and there really isn't anything special about them. and I am preety sure the jackal is available as frame only. If you just want a complete bike, look into the yeti dj. Just stay away from special-ed

id have to disagree with novato cause the p3 feels pretty nice also... not saying jackals dont but its not like the "special-ed" bikes are bad -_- what ever you do try out both bikes before buying.

I like the SC Jackal and think the geo is great but it is a little on the piggy side for my taste. Black Market might be another source you may want to check out. The Riot & Mob's are real nice and light, the geo is great & I personally think steel is the way to go for DJ bikes. Blackmarket also has two different completes they are offering or you can get the frame & customize.

The bottom line is both bikes are nice, you really cant go wrong with either frame. The question is wich one fits you and your style of riding.Best thing to do is ride both.if you cant ride both,go for the best deal.

Right now as I said I have an sx and it handles jumps pretty well, what would a p3 or jackal do that my full suspension couldn't?

hardtails are way easyier to carry speed on and you can actually get higher. They are way easier to move around in the air as well as the ground. They corner better and there lighter.
