So there aren't too many of us who check this singlespeed board then, huh? It's a shame. When I found this site, and saw the singlespeed forum, I was pretty excited. I was hoping perhaps that I would get to meet some other 1 speeders for some riding...
Maybe that can still happen? I ride between 30 and 50 miles a day, and would love some company or a training partner before sea otter.
Drop me a line, even if you want to ride a geared bike. I have some of those too.

This site mostly caters to the downhill/free ride/jumping type riders. Not too many xc guys. MTBR.com is your best bet, they have active forums including singlespeed.

Which is great because I also dj, dh, and freeride. I just thought, having an ss forum implied it's need on this site.

I'm converting my Azonic Steelhead into a single speed. Its more of a street/DJ bike but I'm sick of having skippy gears. I'm running a olllld ultegra derailluer and found it cheaper to switch to a single speed. Plus it has horizontal drop outs. I'm in San Luis, but if you're in town I'm down to hit up some SS street action.

Yep, pretty much been to every trail I can find. Bomber, Morning Glory, Firebreak, Shooters, Face, Pick n' Shovel, What? Trail are all up past Poly Canyon off TV Tower road at the top of the grade. Also been on to MDO Park for Old Ridge Trail, New Ridge Trail, East Boundary and Manzeneta. Madonna has got some sick trails too and theres another trail out near Morrow Bay called Black Hill. Basically sweet trails everywhere!

And I assume you've been to Bike Happening? It's next week again, can't wait.

Did you used to go to Cal Poly?

You should check out Demo Forest in Santa Cruz. I still haven't been there but it sounded like a good place for a fixie MTB. You might want to find out more info before you head out there though.

Ridden Demo forest, and I don't have a fixie mtb...that would be scary as hell! Imagine not knowing what foot was going to be forward when you need to clean that log, rock, double...
Yeah, there's some good trails out there for sure.

arg. I feel I missed out when I was at Poly. To busy w/ the cultural groups/clubs on campus.

I run SS, but my setup creaks like mad! The front ring is offset too much from the rear. I'm sure once I switch up to a true single ring crankset, I'll be fine.

From all the posts I see on this board, I think wildone take most miles per week! I've never riden more than 20 in a single trip! heh heh....

ebR

SHR, Black Diamond Mines, Antioch Skatepark, Limeridge, Shellridge, Concord Skatepark, DVC urban, Mt. Diablo- Devil's Elbow, Tour de Peninsula, WC street, Pleasanton Bike Park, San Ramon BMX, Benicia Skatepark, Moraga Skatepark, Moser Hill, Joaquin Miller Park, Skyline in Napa, Boyscout, The Crack, Carlmont, Shells, Montaña de Oro, Poly Canyon, Cal Poly urban, Skeggs, Carnegie State park/GGG/CHDH, N*, Marin Headlands, China Camp, South Briones, WC Skatepark, IH trails, SV Park Jumps, Rankin Park, Acalanes Ridge, PHPT, Bike4Breath, Hidden Lake jumps and singletrack, Park 'n Ride, San Ramon Skatepark, Dublin Skatepark, Pleasanton Skatepark, 24 hours of Cool, CA, Beresford Skatepark...

Yeah, that stuff is over rated! :09: It's all about beer miles and pinning rock gardens all day with a hangover and back pack full of tall cans! :32: Even the bike club here is getting a little boring, too many roadies and too many rules now.

Yeah Frog and Peach, and Sweet Springs in Los Osos are all right. Pin it, and drink it!
I just had a 41 mile day, and a 45 mile day back to back. Today, I will rest.
